Q: What job or training best prepared you to work as a FoodRescue Driver?
I worked for Nick’s Moving Co. for three months before starting here. Working at Lovin’ Spoonfuls is unlike anything else I’ve ever done, professionally or otherwise; however I’ve always been comfortable with people, so that has served me well in dealing with all of our partners.
Q: Has anything surprised you since starting your work with Lovin’ Spoonfuls?
It is almost unbelievable how much food gets thrown away every single day. We weigh all the product we rescue and I’ve personally had days where I’ve hauled over a ton (2000 pounds!) by myself. That’s just one driver on one day.
