Tell us about what you do with BUILD:
A: I support the 9th grade students at BUILD’s 4 partner high schools in developing their business plans and acclimating to the BUILD curriculum.
Q: What other work have you done that’s prepared you to with students on entrepreneurship?
A: For the past two summers I worked as a student teacher and counselor for two different academic summer programs. Those experiences have prepared me to work with students of this age group as well as feel more comfortable in a classroom setting since my role requires me to spend so much time in the schools.
Q: What have you learned from your work with the BUILD team?
A: Ingenuity is a key skill to adopt to be successful in an educational nonprofit such as BUILD. You learn to use the resources provided to come up with innovative solutions to age old problems.
Q: Have you had any adventures since moving to Boston?
A: My last vacation was a trip around Europe and the UK I took with my college roommates after graduation. We went to Dublin, Edinburgh, London, Berlin, and Amsterdam.
SheGives connects committed, inquisitive, engaged funders with a slate of diligenced nonprofits in the Greater Boston area. We provide members with relevant data about the nonprofits in our portfolio and an opportunity to meet directly with our nonprofits’ Executive Directors and senior staff in small settings that promote in-depth q&a’s and, ultimately, informed giving. Giving is personally driven, but because we give side-by-side our collective impact is greater.
