Q: LINDSAY, WE ARE SO EXCITED TO HAVE YOU ONBOARD AS PART OF OUR SECOND YEAR TEAM OF FELLOWS! TO START, WHAT IS THE MOST EXCITING THING GOING ON IN YOUR LIFE RIGHT NOW?
A: Starting to work with SheGives! And I’m starting a new position soon at World Challenge, a company that creates adventure expeditions for students in the developing world to allow them to explore new cultures and develop important life skills.
Q: SO WE’RE GUESSING YOU ENJOY TRAVELING? WHAT’S THE BIGGEST ADVENTURE YOU’VE BEEN ON?
A: I did an exchange program through my middle school and lived with a French family in Grenoble for two weeks so that was pretty exciting. I’ve been studying French since first grade so it was pretty cool to put it into practice in a French-speaking area. And they don’t speak slowly! It was great to see different parts of the country too before heading off to Paris towards the end of the trip, which was amazing.
Q: SOUNDS LIKE YOU ALSO KEEP PRETTY BUSY HERE AT HOME, CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR NEW BLOG?
A: I’ve been wanting to start a blog for awhile now so I’ve been gathering pictures and ideas and I’m just about ready to start publishing. It will be about my experiences and favorite places in and around Boston as well as adventures (mostly) in the New England area. There’s so much within driving distance of Boston so I love to take little trips and see new places. I used to live in New York City so I’ll be posting about some of my favorite places there too along with a few other cities I’ve visited and loved.
Q: IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU ENJOY WRITING, SO WHAT KIND OF THINGS CAN WE EXPECT TO SEE ON THE SHEGIVES BLOG THIS YEAR?
A: I’m so excited to get started with SheGives! I’ll be working with Lovin’ Spoonfuls, College Bound Dorchester, Teach Plus and BUILD. SheShinesOn will feature profiles of the staff from these wonderful nonprofits and SheFollows will feature news and events from the nonprofits on our slate and their areas of focus.
SheGives connects committed, inquisitive, engaged donors with a slate of diligenced nonprofits in the Greater Boston area. We provide members with relevant data about the nonprofits in our portfolio and an opportunity to meet directly with our nonprofits’ Executive Directors and senior staff in small settings that promote in-depth q&a’s and, ultimately, informed giving. Giving is personally driven, but because we give side-by-side our collective impact is greater. See a list of the vetted nonprofits selected for our slate here.
