Two SheGives Grantees Named Top 100 Educational Innovators

STAT BOX

Engineering is Elementary and Science Club for Girls have been named to Fundación Telefónica’s Top 100 Educational Innovations list. This list compiles the results of the Education Challenge Project, a research project conducted over the past year to “identify innovative educational initiatives” that have proven to be effective in science education.

The Education Challenge Project considered four factors on which to judge organizations: educational, psychological, informative, and social and used these factors to answer the question: How can we increase STEM careers among young people? It established that, in order for projects in STEM education to be successful, they must address the following: improvement of the acquisition of STEM skills (education), promotion of active involvement of students recognizing their skills and interests and connecting them to STEM fields (psychological), integrating academic and professional advice from both teachers and professionals in STEM fields (informative), and improving the social image of STEM careers among students (social).

The full results of the research and the complete Top 100 list can be found here.
