The T3 Initiative (now in 9 schools in Boston) provides critical development for teachers in turnaround schools to improve student outcomes

Q: What did you do before working with T3?

A: I served as a teacher leader and 6th grade Math teacher in the Public Schools of Brookline. I’ve also designed and led professional development for educators (teacher leaders, principals, and superintendents).

Q: Tell us more about your job.

A: As a Link Leadership Coach for the T3 Initiative I partner with T3 school-based coaches who work directly with the T3 teacher leaders to 1) support the development and maximize the impact of the T3 teacher leaders and 2) connect the learning across schools and districts.

Q: What did you have to learn to do in order to be able to do your job?

A: Elisa MacDonald, T3 National Director of Teacher Leader Development, created a revolutionary model that expanded collaboration beyond just function (how people collaborate) to include impact (the outcomes of the collaboration).  In my role, I have learned to evaluate the success of teams through both function and impact lenses, and I have built skill around coaching others to do the same.

SheGives connects committed, inquisitive, engaged funders with a slate of diligenced nonprofits in the Greater Boston area.  We provide members with relevant data about the nonprofits in our portfolio and an opportunity to meet directly with our nonprofits’ Executive Directors and senior staff in small settings that promote in-depth q&a’s and, ultimately, informed giving.  Giving is personally driven, but because we give side-by-side our collective impact is greater.
