If I’d known then what I know now…
Who among us hasn’t considered these words and imagined what comfort, direction and wisdom would have benefitted our fledgling selves?
Well, it’s not too late. Sort of.
On behalf of Science Club For Girls, we invite and encourage SheGives blog readers with a passion for science and engineering, whether professionally or as a hobby, to contribute to Science Club for Girls blog project called Letters to my Young Self. Letters will be published in March, in celebration of Women’s History Month.
Putting down your reflections will not only be liberating, but could make a difference in the lives of girls, not so different from your younger self, forging paths of their own in STEM. And the bonus, you might be posted in HuffPost.
With a membership full of women in STEM, we think we are in an especially sweet position to make a contribution to this project. Your ‘letter’ could take one of a number of forms, described here, along with other Letter to my Younger Self guidelines. We just ask that you get your submissions in on time. There are two deadlines: the first February 28th; the second, March 15th. Don’t be late.
SheGives connects committed, inquisitive, engaged donors with a slate of diligenced nonprofits in the Greater Boston area. We provide members with relevant data about the nonprofits in our portfolio and an opportunity to meet directly with our nonprofits’ Executive Directors and senior staff in small settings that promote in-depth q&a’s and, ultimately, informed giving. Giving is personally driven, but because we give side-by-side our collective impact is greater. See a list of the vetted nonprofits selected for our slate here.
